Washing: Gradually wet your hair and brush gently before you wash it. Massage the scalp gently all over using a downward flow. Do not rub the hair together as this will cause tangling and make combing out and styling very difficult. When you have finished washing, flood your hair with warm water . Squeeze the excess water from the hair. Pat dry, do not rub.
Styling: When brushing use a soft bristle brush or a paddle brush with wide teeth. Start at the ends of your hair and gently work your way up to the roots. Just make sure that you do not comb too deep into the micro loops. Brush your hair 2 or 3 times a day if possible. Be careful with the use of blow-dryers and curling irons. It is best to let you hair dry naturally whenever possible.
Physical Activities: Wear a cap when swimming if possible. It is not recommended you expose your hair to chlorine. If in salt water, make sure to condition after swimming
Blow Drying: Before blow-drying your extensions, it is a good idea to prepare and style the top section and fringe area. Then, using a cool setting on your dryer, tip your head forward and dry the rot area. Using a hotter setting, blow- dry the hair section by section. Wrap hair around a bristle brush, or in the paddle brush, and hold the dryer over it ( not on it ) until the hair is dry
Sleeping: Never sleep on wet hair. Make sure your hair is completely dry before you go to bed. It is also recommended to wrap your hair together or gently tie it up to prevent tangling. Spray a little conditioner in before tying it up.
Hair Treatments: Avoid permanent color if possible on your extensions. As with any hair, dye will reduce its life. Use a semi-permanent color if you intend to color your extensions, free of ammonia or peroxide bleach. Bleaching is not recommended.
Avoid excessive pulling or picking of extensions as this may result in your natural hair breaking.
