Washing: Always remove clip in extensions before bathing or showering. With warm water gently wet the extensions. When applying shampoo you don’t need to be rough with them. Combing the hair product through with your fingers should be fine. Use a shampoo with low or absolutely no sulfates. Rinse out the shampoo. Applying conditioner makes them easier to comb once they’re dry, softer and shinier. Once you’ve rinsed out the conditioner and they’ve dried, comb through the extensions so they’re not tangled. You can leave the extensions out in the sun to dry if you’re in a hurry, they’ll need straightening. You may blow dry the extensions, but first apply a heat protectant to prevent possible damage to the hair.
Brushing: Hair extensions can be brushed when worn with a wide tooth comb or good quality bristle brush. Be careful to avoid the clips when brushing your hair while wearing as the brush will tangle and can pull. When you remove your clip in hair extensions at the end of the day, you can brush them to untangle .Simply hold up and starting from the bottom, gently pull a wide tooth comb through the hair. If any of the clips ins are knotted or tangled, gently detangle starting from the bottom of the knot.
Styling: Human clip in extensions can be straightened and blow dried, curled and heat styled along with your normal hair. But, just as you shouldn’t let your ceramic straighteners or hairdryer near your own hair without applying a heat protection spray, you should also be sure to spray your clip ins with a heat treatment spray. This protects the hair from the often 200-300 degree temperatures of modern ceramic straighteners without singing the hair shaft and damaging it.
Maintenance: You don’t need to wash them every night or even every second night; once a week or once a fortnight should be fine. Use a dry shampoo if necessary. Hair will normally be prone to more damage such as breakage or hair loss if washed regularly.
